Crowned with Care: Free Hair Day for Kids in Care
This February, we’re hosting a special community event called Crowned with Care at the Afro Caribbean Centre in Leicester. The event is designed to provide free hairstyling and barbering services to Black children and teenagers (ages 5–18) in the care system.

Many children in care, especially those with Afro-textured hair, struggle to access proper grooming and cultural hair care. This can impact their confidence, cultural identity, and overall wellbeing. Crowned with Care will bring together skilled hairstylists, barbers, and volunteers to create a day of love, care, and community. Each child will also leave with a personalized hair care box, worth £50, to support their needs beyond the event.

If you know a child that would benefit from this service please click the link below. This is hopefully the first event of many but to ensure the smooth running of this event, we have a capacity for 100 children on the day.

We will select the children randomly based on a lottery system as we would like to make it fair to everyone involved. However there will also be a few walk-in slots on the day subject to capacity.
